These terms apply to Bookeroo, a booking platform for children’s party entertainers across the UK.
1. Who we are
Bookeroo (“we”) provides a website where entertainers can list an act and parents or other adult bookers can request a date. We are a booking intermediary only. We do not employ entertainers, we do not supply the performance, and we are not a party to the contract for the party itself.
2. The contract for the party
When a booking is confirmed, the contract for the performance is between the booker and the entertainer. That contract covers turning up, the content of the show, the fee for the act, cancellations and any complaint about what happened in the room. Bookeroo is not that contract.
3. Accounts
You need an account to book or to list. You must be 18 or over. Keep your password private. We may close an account that is abusive, misleading, or used to take bookings off the safety information we show.
4. Entertainer membership
Listing costs an annual membership fee, shown before you pay (initially £10). A valid discount code waives that joining fee. Membership lets a published profile appear in search while it is in date. We can refuse or remove a listing. You are responsible for your own tax, insurance, right to work, and any DBS, PVG or AccessNI check the law requires for regulated work with children where you work. Before a listing can be saved, the entertainer must sign a declaration that they are not barred or otherwise prohibited by law from working with children. A “PVG Registered” mark is added only where an uploaded certificate passes Bookeroo’s document check. That check is not a search of Disclosure Scotland.
5. Bookings and money
The booker pays the act’s advertised price plus a booking fee (initially £2.50). The entertainer receives the act price minus a platform commission (initially 10%). Where Stripe is connected, the act price is transferred to the entertainer’s connected account and Bookeroo retains the booking fee and commission. Prices on the booking record are the prices that applied when it was made. The admin can change future prices; that does not rewrite old bookings.
6. Featured listings
A homepage feature and a search boost are paid advertising for a week at the price shown at purchase. While a feature is in date, and the membership is live, ranking is: homepage feature, then search boost, then regular members. Inside a tier we order by rating, then relevance to the search, then how free the diary looks, then the number of reviews. A feature is not a recommendation, award, or safety check.
7. Cancellations, no-shows and disputes
Booker and entertainer must sort cancellations, refunds, no-shows, lateness, quality and any other dispute between themselves. Bookeroo does not guarantee a refund, a replacement act, or that anyone will attend. Marking a booking cancelled on the site only frees the date in our diary. It is not a decision about money.
8. Safety
You must read the safety information and accept it before a booking is confirmed. By booking, you agree that Bookeroo accepts no responsibility and no liability for the entertainer, the performance, or the safety of any person, and that you book at your own risk. Parents must independently check credentials, including DBS, PVG or AccessNI where the role requires it, insurance and references, before the party. A blue PVG mark is a document check only. It is not our verification with the issuing body.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, or any liability that the law does not allow us to limit. Subject to that, Bookeroo takes no responsibility and accepts no liability for cancellations, no-shows, the quality of a performance, safety incidents, loss of enjoyment, or any dispute between booker and entertainer. Our total liability arising out of a booking, if a court finds any, is limited to the booking fee we actually received for that booking.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that you may also have mandatory consumer rights where you live in the UK.
