This notice explains how Bookeroo handles personal data for adults booking or listing parties in the UK. Children should not create accounts.
What we hold
- Account data: name, email, password hash, and the role you choose.
- Entertainer profiles: stage name, town, region, prices, bio, an optional photo link, up to three photos you upload, an optional YouTube link, and any DBS, PVG, AccessNI or insurance declaration you tick.
- Bookings: party date, venue, postcode, guest count, your phone number, and notes you type.
- Reviews you submit, and payment references from Stripe when card payments are switched on.
Why
We use this data to run accounts, show listings, take bookings, calculate the fee split, and keep a record if there is a complaint about the platform itself. The lawful bases we expect to rely on are contract (providing the account and the booking desk), legitimate interests (keeping the site secure and understanding which listings are being used), and legal obligation where tax or a regulator requires a record. Marketing is not turned on by default.
Who sees it
A confirmed booking is visible to the booker and the entertainer on that booking. Public profiles show the stage information, not your phone number or email. Uploaded photos are sent to an automated checker before they are published, and only photos that pass are stored and shown on the public profile. A YouTube video on a profile is played from YouTube, which receives the viewer’s connection when they press play. If Stripe is enabled, Stripe processes card payments as a separate controller or processor under its own terms. We do not sell personal data.
How long
Keep account data while the account is open, and booking records for up to six years after the party in case of a dispute or tax query. You can ask us to delete an unused account sooner. We may keep a minimal record of a deletion request.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, a correction, deletion, restriction, or to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk). Contact the operator through the email address published on the site.
Cookies and security
Sign-in uses essential cookies, described on the cookie notice. We do not run advertising cookies. A YouTube show reel is not loaded unless you allow optional cookies or press play. Passwords are stored only as hashes. Do not put a child’s full story, medical details or school name into the booking notes.
